Extend the reach of an existing USB-C cable, charger, dock or peripheral with the Astrotek USB-C Extension Cable. Its USB-C male-to-female design supports compatible charging and data-synchronisation connections while providing an additional metre of flexible placement.

The cable can extend a compatible USB-C charging connection. Actual charging power depends on:

• The original USB-C cable

• The extension cable’s power rating

• The connected device

• USB Power Delivery negotiation

• Combined cable length

High-power laptop charging may be reduced or unavailable if any component does not support the required voltage and current.

Data and Video Information

Actual transfer speed depends on the host device, peripheral, original cable and USB standard supported by every component in the connection.

Video output requires the host device, original cable, extension cable and display adaptor to support the necessary USB-C Alternate Mode. A USB-C connector alone does not guarantee video output.

Thunderbolt 3 Compatibility

This cable may be used with selected devices that feature Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports; however, it should not automatically be treated as a certified 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 cable.

Thunderbolt performance, display output, docking functions and high-speed storage support may be limited by the extension length and connected equipment. For applications requiring guaranteed 40Gbps performance, use a certified Thunderbolt cable of the recommended length.

Important Information

USB-C extension cables are not suitable for every USB-C or Thunderbolt configuration. Some docks, displays, external graphics devices, high-speed drives and high-power chargers may not operate correctly through an extension.

Do not connect multiple extension cables together. Additional cable length may reduce charging power, signal quality and data-transfer performance.

Check the cable and connectors regularly for damage. Stop using the cable if it becomes unusually hot, bent, frayed or loose.

This product extends an existing connection and does not include a charger, host cable, hub or power adaptor.
